Follow the steps from online application to your first class. Selection is based on merit, and registration and training fees are covered by the programme.
From application to your first class
The entire journey is online except one short visit for document verification. Here is exactly what happens — and what to expect — at every step.
Step 1: Create Your Application Online
15 – 20 minutesRegister on the Mehfooz Punjab portal with your CNIC and mobile number, then complete the form with your personal, contact, and education details.
What to expect
- One application per CNIC — duplicates are rejected automatically
- You can save a draft and return any time before the deadline
- A confirmation SMS and email arrive within minutes of submission
Step 2: Upload Your Documents
About 10 minutesAttach clear scans or photos of your CNIC/B-Form, domicile, education certificates, and a recent photograph directly in the portal.
What to expect
- Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, PDF — maximum 2 MB per file
- Blurred or cropped documents are the most common cause of delays
- Originals are only needed later, at in-person verification
Step 3: Aptitude Assessment
45 minutes · onlineSit a proctored online assessment of logical reasoning, problem solving, and basic digital literacy. No cybersecurity knowledge is tested.
What to expect
- Your date and time slot are sent by SMS and email after applications close
- Take it from home, or from a district facilitation desk if you lack internet
- A free practice test opens in the portal one week before the window
Step 4: Merit List Published
Within 10 days of assessmentDistrict-wise merit lists are published on the portal, combining your assessment score and academic record into a transparent merit score.
What to expect
- Every applicant is notified of their result — selected or not
- Merit positions and cut-offs are public for full transparency
- Wait-listed candidates are called up as seats become available
Step 5: Document Verification at Centre
One visit · about 1 hourSelected candidates bring original documents to their designated centre for verification against the uploaded copies.
What to expect
- Bring originals plus one photocopy set of every document
- Verification centres operate in or near every district
- Any discrepancy is flagged on the spot, with a chance to clarify
Step 6: Enrolment & Orientation
Half dayVerified candidates are formally enrolled, receive their student ID and learning platform credentials, and attend orientation before classes begin.

- Orientation covers your schedule, labs, code of conduct, and support channels
- You meet your instructors and cohort for the first time
- Classes for Cohort 2026 begin on 1 October 2026

Six tips for assessment day
The 45-minute online assessment measures reasoning and potential — not cybersecurity knowledge. A little preparation goes a long way.
Take the practice test
A full-length practice test opens in the portal one week before the assessment window. Candidates who take it consistently score higher.
Check your setup early
Test your internet connection, camera, and browser the day before. A laptop or desktop is strongly recommended over a phone.
Manage the clock
45 minutes for 40 questions leaves roughly a minute each. Answer what you know first, flag the rest, and return at the end.
There is no negative marking
Unanswered questions score zero, so never leave a question blank — an educated guess can only help you.
Nothing to memorise, nothing to buy
The assessment measures reasoning, not facts. Anyone selling 'guaranteed' preparation or leaked papers is a fraudster — report them to 1100.
Keep your CNIC at hand
You will confirm your identity at the start of the session. Keep the original card with you to avoid losing time.

Official Fraud Warning
No application or training fees
Mehfooz Punjab is fully funded by the Government of the Punjab. There is no application fee, no assessment fee, no verification fee, and no tuition fee. The programme has no agents, no quotas for sale, and no paid ‘fast track’. Anyone who demands money, offers guaranteed admission, or sells ‘assessment preparation with leaked papers’ is committing fraud.
Report fraud to the Citizen Helpline 1100
Only one application per CNIC is accepted per intake. Submitting multiple applications leads to automatic rejection of all of them.
Keep your registered mobile number and email active — every result, invitation, and instruction is sent there.
Uploaded documents must match the originals presented at verification. Any forged document permanently disqualifies the applicant.
